In addition, the students are required to undergo an industrial training for 6 to 8 weeks during the summer break after the second semester.
Candidates who have qualified for the award of the Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology who have a valid GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) score with minimum percentile fixed by the institute are eligible to apply for admission to the M. Tech programme. The applications from candidates sponsored by organisations recognized by the Institute and applications from foreign nationals received through proper channel are also considered for admission to the M. Tech programme and for these candidates GATE score is not essential.
The M.S. and Ph.D. programmes have research orientation. The scholars admitted to these programmes are groomed to carry out independent research in the emerging areas.
